<strong>Book in advance<\/strong>. But I can tell it is especially important for Iceland \u2013 whether we\u2019re talking car rentals or accommodations. I am a huge fan of travelling by public transport but this time I am afraid <strong>the answer is yes<\/strong>. There are a lot of beautiful places in Iceland which are <strong>only reachable by car<\/strong>. In addition, <strong>public transport is quite expensive<\/strong> compared to other countries I\u2019ve been to, for example, the 188 km from Reykjavik to V\u00edk \u00ed M\u00fddral costs 7,980 kr (approximately 54 \u20ac or 57 US$) one way with Str\u00e6t\u00f3.<\/p><p>Another way is to <strong>bring your own car by ferry<\/strong> to Iceland. The <strong>Ring Road is also cleared in winter and remains passable<\/strong>. Other places in Iceland like the Westfjords or the inner part of Iceland like Landmannalaugar will require better cars (and summer).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section So don\u2019t plan too much time on the Golden Circle \u2013 there is so much more to see! A lot of<strong>\u00a0nature and spots are for free<\/strong>\u00a0(like the most famous waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Sk\u00f3gafoss). The national parks as well, the only fees you have to calculate are the\u00a0<strong>parking fees<\/strong>.
